Many of our avid readers are well familiar with our love of history and finding those unique qualities and interesting secrets that bring a place to life. The element of story, of fantasy and theatricality conjure up the past to present time in a way that is, in our humble opinion, fantastically palpable, fashionably expressive and visually intriguing to the eye. With all this said, we had the pleasure of discovering these elements at Mohawk Bend and paying homage to its fascinating past while noshing on their vegan pizza and sipping old fashioned cocktails, naturally.

We collaborated with a talented group of artists to bring this world to life including our creative comrade and dear friend, Dana Tarr. Dana’s photography captures moments, people and story quite remarkably, not to mention his innate understanding of lighting and space. Marlaine Reiner is one of the most talented not to mention fabulous makeup artists we know, whose versatility at painting faces helped us get into character and feel pretty while doing it. We also can’t forget to mention The Feathered Head whose stunning, hand-made head pieces made us Gatsby party ready for the shoot.

We showcased some of the popular and newer menu items including the vegan Bahn Mi and Angry Vegan pizzas, fired up in Mohawk’s 6000 pound, custom-built Woodstone oven. The popular Buffalo Style Cauliflower appetizer also made it to the table and was consumed with a vengeance.

For a taste of history, both literally and figuratively, grab a bite or drink at Mohawk Bend. Its diverse menu caters to omnivores, vegetarians and vegans alike and is a festive environment for friends to come together. And who knows, perhaps you’ll relive history in your own, unique way as the curtains open to pave your visit.
